Recently the head of the Lost Sierra Hoedown and good friend Drew Fisher reached out with bad news: The Hoedown was officially canceled this year due to the coronavirus pandemic. He asked me to look through the footage I shot from last year’s outdoor bluegrass music festival and put together a piece with a more emotional tone - part sorrow and nostalgia, and part hopeful and forward-looking to next year’s shindig.
It turned into a heartfelt piece about all the different reasons we love the Lost Sierra and the Hoedown: the people, the music, the camping, the outdoors and the fun.
